Conference: Nancy Holt / Inside Outside on October 7, 2022

Bildmuseet is hosting a conference on Friday, October 7th with conversations and lectures on the work of Nancy Holt to accompany the major solo-exhibition at the museum: Nancy Holt / Inside Outside.

The event will feature conversations and lectures from Milou Allerholm, writer and art historian, Stockholm; Karen Di Franco, curator and writer, London; Teresa Grandas, curator at MACBA, Barcelona; Ingo Vetter, artist and professor, University of the Arts Bremen; Bridget Crone, senior lecturer at the Department of Visual Cultures, Goldsmiths, University of London; Ben Tufnell, co-founder and director of Parafin, London; and the curators of the exhibition Nancy Holt / Inside OutsideLisa Le Feuvre, director of Holt/Smithson Foundation, Santa Fe; and Katarina Pierre, director of Bildmuseet, Umeå University. Lecture language: English.

Films by Holt and Smithson on view at The Museum of Modern Art

Three films by Nancy Holt and Robert Smithson are currently on view at The Museum of Modern Art, New York, in collection gallery 411 of the David Geffen Wing. This presentation focuses on Spiral Jetty (1970), Swamp (1971), and Sun Tunnels (1978). Newly restored scans of the first two works are presented as part of a collaboration between Holt/Smithson Foundation and MoMA to preserve their moving-image work.

Chapter Nine of Tuesday Texts

This exhibition to brings Holt’s work into a responsive dialogue with the Schindler House, inviting visitors to experience art and architecture as partners in seeing.
