In 1961, Robert Smithson produced a number of detailed ink drawings focused on mythological figures. The Cyclops recurs across his work in multiple forms, appearing in this 1961 drawing on paper, in a 1964 wall-based sculpture, and in a 1971 essay titled “Art Through the Camera’s Eye.”
